Surrealist Digital Portrait (Fruit/Vegetable

Image
This Project was to create a person out of food and vegetables like  Giuseppe Arcimboldo . He was a painter in the renaissance and was way ahead of his time. I used an absolute ton of fruit and had to cut them out from a background which was quite time consuming.

Surrealist Digital Landscape

Image
This Project was to create a surreal digital landscape.

Warhol-esque Digital Painting

Image
I c hose to use an image of Molly, my horse, and I jumping. She is a big part of my life and I love her to bits. It was an easy project but I still like how it turned out. I had to put filters and then polarize the image. I like how it turned out.

Georgia O'Keeffe-Inspired Digital Painting

Image
For this assignment, we had to create a Georgia O'Keeffe-Inspired digital painting, I chose to do a poppy because I love the flower and my mom does too. I look back fondly on the memories of seeing fields of them when we went back and visited family in England. I tried to make this look as soft as possible yet still look like a flower. To do that I used low opacity brushes and soft ones.

Digital Post-Impressionist Portrait

Image
This project was the same as the last program but instead we got to do it on a human, or an animal, I chose Smudge, my cat because he is a little bundle of annoying cuteness and he is a large part of my life. I used the same brush as last time, the flower crystal special effects brush.

Digital Post-Impressionist Landscape

Image
This project was to create a landscape with a unconventional bush. I used the special effects brush "Petal Crystals". This scenery is a image from one of my favorite places, the Santa Ysabel Preserve. Whenever I can I take my horse, molly there to run around. The preserve is home to a ton of cows but none happened to be in that picture. It is really pretty and green in the spring.

Painting of Choice

Image
I really did not know what to choose so I went ahead and drew a tree with a derpy sun. I like trees, so why not draw one? I like sketchbook pro, it is a nice program that is perfect for art.

Create a Logo for an Existing Brand

Image
I Chose Scarpa, a climbing shoe company, I wear a pair of their shoes and they lasted a while and I thought the name was cool. The logo is two S's, one that was rotated. I chose purple and black because why not? I like how this turned out.

Formal/Informal Balance

Image
This project was to use SketchBookPro and create a symmetrical, therefore balanced, image. I chose to do an hourglass, mainly because they are cool but symmetrical. I really like SketchBookPro and It would be my choice over Photoshop Elements and ArtRage.

Street Piece

Image
I created a piece of art to look like it was spray painted onto a wall. I chose to do butterflies flying out of a crack in the wall. I used only the airbrush tool for this entire piece. I think it looks nice.

Rhythm/Movement

Image
This project was to create, or use an existing stencil to show movement. I chose to make my own of a sunflower and have them in different colors and sizes, move up on the page which draws the eye upwards.

Rothko-esque Painting in ArtRage

Image
This project was in ArtRage, a new program to me. We used the paint tool and then the palette knife to blend them in a Rothko-esque manner. His modern paintings were usually square with multiple colors on canvas. Art Rage is fun to work with.

Celebrity with an Animal Name

Image
This project was to create an animal celebrity hybrid that went with their names. I chose Tyler Joseph, who is now Tyler Josheep. We had to cut out the celebrity, and then take a animal that went with their name. After choosing the animal, we needed to erase parts of the animal to make it look like the animal parts were part of the human. I'd say this looks pretty nice. After doing that we had to choose a font to use for their new name, I took an extra step and colored in the name.
